With over twenty years experience as a trained illustrator, I specialise in capturing key points at events with meaningful visuals, bringing energy to even the driest of subjects. Through live illustration I’m able to translate key ideas being presented by the speaker into engaging visuals, that communicate ideas simply and clearly.
What is live illustration?
A live illustrator (also known as a graphic recorder) is a visual artist who listens to an event and translates the key points and ideas into meaningful visuals in real-time.
They capture themes, big ideas and decisions using drawings, icons and text.
How does live illustration work?
All my live illustration work is hand drawn on paper, canvas, walls, windows or anything that stands still long enough.
I can draw your event in-person or remotely using an overhead mounted camera. In-person I can support the speaker with illustrations on a board or screen for the audience to watch in real time, or create the illustrations behind the scenes to share after the event.
